During Valentines weekend the annual Vulcan District Winter Camporee was held at Tannehill. This event is a way for Boy Scouts to show off their skills and compete against other troops. This is also a great opportunity for the Webelos to show off their skills as well.

On Saturday and Sunday of this three-day event, Webelos attend at the invitation of a Vulcan District troop. This is a great way to see what boy scouts are all about and to get to know some of the troops. On Saturday afternoon the Webelos compete in skills competition that include starting a fire, lashing a flagpole together, scout law relay and knot tying.

This year the Webelos 2 den of Pack 95 competed for the second time. Unfortunately the den leader (me) did not spend much time working on all the knots leading up to this event. I was asked to give a presentation at SMLST training so I missed the knot tying. Imagine my surprise when I met with my den only to find out they came in first place, tying all seven knots in the fastest amount of time.

I think these boys are ready for Boy Scouts.

Here is the video of their winning event.
